Medical Research Institute- Alexandria University is welcoming Dr. Kiyoshi Ishihara, the Professor of Japanese Yamaguchi University, to give an introductory lecture for the international project, which is funded by The international federation of clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine (IFCC). The project is specified in standardizing the rates of laboratory measurements (the global multicenter study on reference values for clinical laboratory tests) in different countries of the world. That is to be on Wednesday, August 13th, 2014.

Dr. Osama Ibrahim, Alexandria University President, decreed appointing Dr. Amr Abdel-Aziz Ahmed Al-Sammak, the Professor at Marine Sciences Department- Faculty of Science, as the Faculty’s Deputy for Education and Student Affairs for three years.

Besides, appointing Dr. Mustafa Youssef Mustafa Al-Nagar, the Professor at Botany and Microbiology Department- Faculty of Science, as the Faculty’s Deputy for Graduate Studies and Research for three years.

In addition to appointing Dr. Mohamed Omar Hammad Abu Doh, the Professor at Public Finance Department- Faculty of Commerce, as the Faculty’s Deputy for Community Service and Environmental Development for three years.

Dean Selection Committee urges university professors "employees" to run for the post of dean in faculties and institutes

The Dean Selection Committee at the University of Alexandria issued, recently, a speech urging university professors to run for the position of Dean in faculties and institutes of the university, which allowing the nomination of the most appropriate and most worthy for this position in the light of standards set by the Supreme Council of Universities.

In this regard .., Dr. Sedeek Abdul Salam, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research and Chairman of the Selection Committee said that according to the recent amendment of the law regulating universities and regulations issued by the Supreme Council of Universities has introduced a new system for the nomination of deans of faculties and institutes through the formation of a committee concerned with this purpose of the follow-up to run elections and its procedures and conditions, and identify the guiding criteria to choose the deans.

 

He pointed out that the overall assessment of the committee is the standard that will be through a choice of three candidates, their names will be presented to the competent authority for the selection of the final candidate for the position.

 

Dr. Sedeek Abdul Salam added that the Dean Selection Committee at the University of Alexandria, issued by the president of the university No. 1177, July 16, 2014, issued a decision to call professors of institutions and university to encourage them to apply for the position of Dean, which allowing the nomination of the most appropriate and most worthy for this position in the light of the standards set by the Supreme Council of Universities.

 

He pointed out that the Committee appeals to colleagues who find in themselves the ability to command, the university administration and have a clear vision for the development of their faculties and institutes and achieve their goals to keep pace with what is modern in the field of higher education and scientific research, and community service should take the initiative to run, hoping to achieve progress and prosperity for our university and our beloved homeland.

 

Dr. Osama Ibrahim receives adviser to the president of Central African Republic to discuss ways of cooperation and consolidation of relations

In the framework of the keenness of the University of Alexandria to strengthen relations with African countries, Dr. Osama Ibrahim, head of the University of Alexandria met with Mr. Osman Mohamed Osman, adviser of the Central African Republic and the minister of planning and transport, civil aviation, infrastructure, Mr. Amadou Isa, Cultural Counselor of the African Embassy and Mr. Raafat Sakr, Consul General of Africa in Alexandria on Sunday, July 20, 2014, with the aim of boosting relations and open ways of cooperation between University of Alexandria & Central African States.

Dr. Osama Ibrahim confirmed that the university is willing to cooperate with the countries of Central African Republic by sending medical convoys and treatment and to provide scholarships for students and give them an opportunity to study the programs and departments of the French-speaking faculties, where the University of Alexandria is a member of the Francophone Agency.

 

Also Mr. Osman confirmed on the willingness of his country to benefit from the potential of Alexandria University and medical and therapeutic services offered by the University of Alexandria for many African countries and discuss the possibility of the exchange of faculty members and students to benefit from the experience of the university in the areas that needed by the Central African Republic.

 

The visit was attended by Dr. Sedeek Abdul Salam, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research.
